Trust Him
In John 19:10-11, Pilate asked Jesus if He knew that he had
power to release Him. Jesus’ answer has given comfort through all the ages.
Jesus answered, “You could have no power at all against me unless it had been
given you from above…”
Here Jesus is revealing to Pilate and all since him, that
God has a good plan. Jesus is revealing that He knows and agrees with God’s
plan. Furthermore he shows that no enemy can thwart God’s good plan. How
encouraging these thoughts are for us today as we walk in the truth of God’s
power.
Creation
This school year we are looking at ways that our
understanding of creation affects all areas of teaching. Consider this example:
Your child squanders his music practice time. You begin to
wonder if he understands creation fully. Then you pray, because you realize
that you are unsure about the relationship between creation and practicing
music. You begin to think about it as you read scripture and continue to pray.
Perhaps these are some of the ideas that come to you:
- Are minutes
that God gave me part of His creation?
- Does it
matter to Him what I do with those minutes? Why? How do I know?
- Is music
connected to creation in any way?
- Did God give
everyone the same appreciation for music? Why?
Vision Therapy
Some children learn more slowly or in a different style.
This is God’s plan for them and no therapy is needed. Other children seem to
need therapy, try it but make very little progress. For others vision therapy
is a tool that God uses to get the child to make the progress that He intended
in the student.
Some of you have used Vision Therapy Associates of York
(717-741-5531), I would like to hear about your evaluation of their services.
Who’s the Boss?
Study in spiritual authority will be necessary our entire
lives. Learning to trust the plan of our sovereign, loving, just God is a
process – often a difficult one. As parents, we need to assume that the study
is on going, and on going, and on going! I believe that some of our difficulty
lies in thinking that we have already taught that and shouldn’t need to teach
it again. WOW! Are we wrong? It comes naturally to rebel against what doesn’t
“seem” best to us. But God’s ways are not our ways, and we cannot see the
picture as He sees it – complete. That’s where trust comes in. We trust because
He is Trustworthy, not because we understand. Teach your children this!
Revival
I’ve written a flyer asking for believers to pray for
revival in our land. We want to ask God to revive us personally, making us more
and more into His image. We also want to ask Him to help those who don’t know
Him as Savior to know Him. Third, we want to pray for our precious United States of America – asking God to bring into
political leadership those who fear Him. Pray also for any needs that you
witness.
See you at Workshop!
