When the Israelites got to the promised land Moses sent twelve spies to spy out the land. When they came back, ten of them were not so sure they could do it. Joshua and Caleb came back with good reports. They didn’t enter into the promised land because God punished them by making them stay in the wilderness for forty more years.
Moses died and Joshua became the leader and he sent in two spies to spy out just one city. They did a good job and God spoke to Joshua and told him how to take the city. They took it. Then they kept on taking cities.
I can learn determination because Joshua was determined to take the cities and he kept working at it. I can be determined in cleaning up my room by doing one part at a time. I could do the hallway, then the bed, then the closet and I would be done in a flash!
