Finding God in Your Pain and Knowing that He will Take Care of You
By Nancy L. Cox

Where’s God?
Sometimes it feels like I’m walking alone,
I’m trying to make it through the dark;
I need some help-but than I realize I’m on my own,
I begin to ask myself ‘where’s God?’
Where is He when I need Him?
Where is He when I’m afraid?
Where is He when I need a lift?
I ask around and someone says:
‘Look inside you, that’s God’.
I look inside but all I see is sin.
I’m feeling desperate, I need some answers,
I find that by chance there’s got to be a way;
Then I hear someone say,
God’s always been there-
Waiting for you;
Knocking on your door,
Then realize it’s true!
Oh I could finally see,
He’s always been there for me!

There has probably been a point in your life where you have had emptiness in your life. You tried to fill it up with things like money, job, school, cloths and friends. You try to fill the emptiness, but nothing satisfies the longing for fulfillment. When you need your friends the most, they dump you. When you need someone to turn to, the friends you thought you had, disappear.
Who will be there for you when you need a friend? Who can you turn to when there is no one else? Who will fill the empty places in your soul? Who is the one that satisfies your every longing? Who is the one that will never leave you? Who is the one that will never give you a stab in the back? When you’re alone, who will be there? One person can fill that description and His name is Jesus.
Jesus said that He would never leave us or forsake us. He is the friend that sticks closer than a brother. He will be there when you have no one. All you have to do is to call out to Him and He will answer, He won’t give us trials harder than what we can bear. He will help us to grow stronger and closer to Him (Ps. 37:24, 39; Nhm. 1:7; Ps. 32:7; Ps. 42:11; Ps. 73:26; Ps.9:9).
God will be there for you. Through thick and thin, if you have trusted in Him, He will take care of you. The only thing you need to do is to trust Him. Trust that He will do what He has promised. Trust in His faithfulness. Believe in His tender mercies. Obey His commandments and rest in His Love (John. 14:18; Is. 43:4, 58:9; 2 Cor. 6:18; Gen. 28:15; Ps. 37:3-5, 40:4, 125:1; 1 Pet.5:7).
As you walk through life remember one thing: God is there for you. Jesus died for you so you could have eternal life to live with Him. So stop what you are doing right now and thank Him.
Psalm 30:1-12 NKJV
“I will extol You, O Lord, for You have lifted me up,
And have not let my foes rejoice over me.
2, O Lord my God, I cried out to You, And You healed me.
3, O Lord, You brought my soul up from the grave;
You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.
4, Sing praise to the Lord, you saints of His,
And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name.
5, For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life;
Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes again in the morning.
6, Now in my prosperity I said, ‘I shall never be moved.’
7, Lord, by Your favor you have made my mountain stand strong;
You hid Your face, and I was troubled.
8, I cried out to You, O Lord;
And to the Lord I made supplication:
9, ‘What profit is there in my blood,
When I go down to the pit?
Will the dust praise You?
Will it declare Your truth?
10, Hear, O Lord, and have mercy on me;
Lord, my helper!’
11, You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;
You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,
12, To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent.
O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever.”
