Missions: At Home and Abroad

Help the Lost
Walking down the street
Not going anywhere;
Nobody to meet,
No one out there!
Wishing that there was someone-
to talk to,
alone and afraid;
Looking for someone who's got it made.
Won't anyone listen?
Doesn't anyone care?
Isn't there someone with an ambition?
Someone who would dare?
To reach out and help,
To do what most would not dare do;
To give up yourself,
Do you want to?
Show them Jesus,
Show them the Cross;
Give them some hope,
Please- Help the Lost

I wrote this poem a couple of years ago, but it is something that has been on my heart for a very long time. It is something that Jesus has comanded all of us to do: Go into the world and prech the Gospel (Mark 16:15). It's sometimes called the great commision. Christ has comanded all who have claim Him as Lord and Savior to tell everyone we come in contact with, that Jesus Christ is Lord. The beginning of the poem is what you might call a cry for help from someone who is lost and alone in the world with no hope for tomarrow. Towards the end of the poem you can hear the call of Jesus to help those in need and show them His Truth. "Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. And He said, Go,..." (Is. 6:8-9a)
God is calling all who believe in Him to go and tell the world of His Love and Salvation through His Son Jesus. But that does'nt mean that you have to go on a missons trip or work at a rescue mission to do it. You can do it in your home by being a good example of Jesus' Love to your sibblings, or to you neighbors. But wherever God puts you, you have to be willing to use any sercumstance to show God's love to whoever you come in contact with. you need to say as Isaiah said "'...Here am I, send me.' Lord send me wherever you want me to go, do with me whatever you want, Lord use me as your broken vessel."
Be willing to be used by God in whatever situation He puts you in for His glory and honor. Don't be afraid to share your Faith with others, I know it can be intimidating at times, but you just need to thik of it in the way the Bible describes it: "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!" (Is. 52:7) God has sent us to share the good news of His son. Gospel means good news, so when Christ said to share his Gospel He is saying to share the good news.
If you have have ever been given a gift for your Birthday or for Christmas, especialy when you were younger, you probably could hardly wait to tell your freinds about it and maybe even shown them and if you were kind enough, let them play with it a little. In the same way God wants us to share His Love with others to tell others of the greatest gift that has ever been given adn ever will be given; the gift of His Son Jesus and the Salvation that Jesus bought for us through His death on the Cross. Three days later He rose up from the daed concuring death and giving us the hope of heaven. We deserve to die in our sins, but God Loved us too much to let that happen so he gave us the gift of salvation. (John3:16-17),(1 Cor. 15:55-58)and(Rom.6:23)
With everything that God has done for us the least we can do is to do what He asks of us. He wants us to Love Him as He first Loved us, to share His Love with others and to share with the world what He has done for us. Jesus said to Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and soul and to love your neighbor as yourself. (Matt.22:36-40)
God is calling, will you listen? He's loving you, will you love Him? He died for you, will you thank Him? He's sending you, will you GO?
You are My God
You are my God,
and I will praise you;
You are my God,
I believe in your Truth.
You are my King,
I will worship you;
You are higher than anything,
I will adore you.
You have created me,
out of the dust;
you formed me,
So I will trust-
In your unfailing love;
you are my Father form above,
I will obey you.
You are the Giver of good gifts,
So I will thank you;
for you have given me everlasting life.
You are my Savior,
So I will tell-
the world evermore,
How you saved me from hell;
How you cleansed me of my sin,
giving me a new life to begin.
